Where it all started.

It is unknown as to how old I was when it all started.. Ten is my guess
But all I know is I wasnt living the preteen life I should've. People judge me from the past I lived. And some people show sympothy towards me. I turned out fine,If it werent for my grandmother I wouldnt be the same as I am today.
My mother and father both were active drug users, with them thinking my brothers and I were clueless as to what they were doing. They were wrong. If they werent with their friends they were locked in their room. I was considered mom to my young brothers. Food was cooked by me. I sent them to bed. I bathed them. The thing is I felt no pain. I didnt let their mistakes effect me as a person. I would go to school with a smile on my face. And I never mentioned what would go on inside of my home. My brothers didnt really have an idea as to what was going on, they would just think that they were working or what ever they did.

Who ever reads this. Dont judge my parents. Its been years im now fifteen years old. People change as did my parents. My dad has served his 4th year in prison and gets released January 4th of 2011 and my mother is currently in school to be a nurse. Only god can judge me.

  1. Kenna: I don't think anyone judges you from the past you have lived. Despite the past, you had a lot of strength for the little girl you were back then. You are no longer that "little girl". You had alot of loving support from me, Grandma Terry and your Aunt Patti, along with others who were involved to help you and your brothers. We all wanted "the best" outcome for you and your brothers. I think you felt pain, you just didn't realize what it was at that time. Your parent's, respectively, are not the same people they were back then, at that time. This, too, is a different time in their lives. Both realize the mistakes that were made and each one is making profound progress. Unfortunately, sometimes, we do not know the reasons why we have to travel a certain path...but, I can assure you there IS always a lesson to be learned and consequences to be served when we make the wrong, inappropriate choices.

What you need to focus on at this point in your life is getting the very best education you can get, strive and work hard to get the best grades in school that you can get...school sets a pattern for each one of us..and I believe that those who do their very best in school will always do their very best in life. I always knew that I had to do my best in school for me to have a productive life and a well paying job. My efforts paid off over the years. I know you probably "tire" of hearing me say that, but I really do want you to be the best you can be in school. You are in control of your self at school and with what you do at school and in class. It's ok to have a little job like you have, but you should make your education your top priority...someday, in the near future, you will understand what I'm talking about.

Friends....are great. Don't let friends "rule" your life...you are ultimately responsible for your choices and decisions.

MyKenna, I see in you, an ability to focus and to write. You are 15 and you already have an ability to write, to be expressive, in ways that it takes some a lifetime to accomplish. May I suggest that there be a class in journalism for you to excell. I am proud of the young lady you have become. Always try to remember this: Treat others, including your brothers, the same way you like to be treated. Lead by example and others will learn by your example in life.

Despite the difficulties in growing up, we all face many challenges in life. Always honor your parents, they both love you and your brothers very much. And always remember, I love you too. Only God can judge you.

    Love,
    Your Grandma Suzi
